JSimm is an open expansion system for
Systronix embedded Java and SimmStick systems

The JSimm backplane has six JSimm slots in a 100x100 mm (about 4 x4 inches) standard Euroboard form factor. JSimm is compatible with many versions of the SimmStick bus and can be used as a SimmStick backplane. The 100 x 100 mm size is compatible with common Lego® and Knex® structures, as well as many robotic platforms.

JSimm Backplane Documentation
JSimm Backplane schematic PDF (900 KBytes) The backplane provides six JSimm slots and an efficient switching power converter.
Description: The backplane is passive except for the switching regulator which provides 5 VDC to all six JSimm slots. The regulator accepts any 6-20 VDC unregulated or regulated input. For a raw power input we typically use our standard 12 VDC power cube as well as 12V sealed lead acid and 9.6 VDC R/C model NiMH battery packs. Paste jumpers (a blob of solder closes them) on the back of the board connect all the bussed signals together. These paste jumpers can be easily opened with a soldering iron and a bit of solder wick (use the 'no-clean' type) to isolate any signals on any JSimm slots from any others.
